People ask, “Who is Spike?” Well, it all started one day by accident when Richard drew this character on a sign and gave him spiky hair. Then, before he knew it, the little creep took over and now Spike is everywhere. Think of him as a tour guide through the book. Richard made Spike very simple, so anybody can relate, no matter what their gender, nationality, or race.
