About

Richard St. John is a success analyst, author, and speaker. As a kid he had no idea what to do with his life, but he followed his passions and ended up starting a successful marketing company. He has won some of the world’s top awards for photography, corporate videos and scriptwriting. One passion is running and he has completed over 50 marathons on all seven continents, with a best time of 2:43. He and his wife Baiba have also climbed two of the world’s highest mountains, Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua.

About ten years ago a teenage girl on a plane asked Richard a simple question, “What really leads to success?” But even though he had achieved some success and become a millionaire he couldn’t tell her how he did it.  He wondered, “How did a guy like me, who barely passed high school and struggled through first year of college, end up succeeding?” Then later at a conference of the rich and famous he thought, “Maybe I’ll ask these successful people how they got to where they are and find out what really leads to success.”

The little project grew into a 10-year journey and interviews with over 500 successful people including Martha Stewart, Richard Branson, Russell Crowe, Forest Whitaker, the Google founders, DNA co-discoverer James Watson, and environmentalist Jane Goodall, to name a few. After spending years analyzing the data, St. John uncovered the most important principles that lead to success in any career. His two books on the subject are “Stupid, Ugly, Unlucky, and Rich”, and “8 To Be Great.”
